Born in Hong Kong, Fr. Joesph Tham L.C. is a Catholic priest, artist, medical doctor, and former Dean of the School of Bioethics at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical University. His artworks had exhibited in Canada, Mexico, Italy, Hong Kong, and the USA. He specialized in producing captivating Chinese ink paintings, Chinese calligraphy, and seal carving in his artworks.
Father Tham had recently published a book called Art for God. The book included curated images and detailed reflections of his ink paintings, calligraphy, and seals. Father Tham said, 'I was trying to explain my artistic journey of painting.' In his journey, he reflected upon spirituality, Catholic theology, and the concepts of the ancient Chinese philosophy of Heaven, Earth, People, and Harmony as he communicated with God through painting. He attempted to use his capability and grace to retain the beauty of traditional Chinese ink painting, express his relationship with God, and portray the essence of the subject matter- the glory and mystery of God
